Last month we had a wonderful time providing day of coordination for Melissa and Hunter Hartwig. The ceremony was at St.Mary's Cathedral in downtown Austin and it was absolutely gorgeous. The poinsettas from Christmas were still in the church which made a lovely ceremony setting. At the Chateau Bellevue the banquet room also had Christmas trees, wreaths and garland to continue the theme. It was a cocktail reception with a mixture of high top tables and round guests tables with ivory linens, chair covers and sashes.Baby's breathe with gold pinecone centerpieces were alternated with white hydrangeas and red roses provided by Ruth at Fleurish Austin. The Newsboys were the entertainment for the evening and they were awesome.Check them out in April at the Oasis. The 5 tier white chocolate with raspberry filing cake from The Brides Table was not only moist and delicious, it was a showstopper! Melissa and Hunter chose Koozies as their guest favor. They were too cute. The weather was perfect so the doors to the courtyard were open for guests to mingle and for The Hartwig's exit by Austin Pedicab! Special thanks to Chris Howard at The Photography Shoppe for providing these photos.

We were thrilled to be featured last month at Marquee. This fresh, modern, whimsical design complete with a fireplace makes it feel like a true winter wonderland.

Using Wedgewood Blue Taffeta as a base color and white chiavari chairs with a table setting of Vanessa Platinum Rim china, the mock dining table is beautiful with wintry custom accents and it’s showcased perfectly with the addition of the Crystal Barrel chandelier from Marquee Tents.

The custom designed candy buffet starts with Silver Satin and the candy is accented in "Sweet Sensations Candy Buffets" custom candy jars with all white candy. Custom Candy Buffets include consultation, design,  set-up, tear down, glassware, scoops, favor bags and delicious candy! What a great asset and addition for your next event!

The fireplace complete with Bride & Groom stockings, showcased  the sweetheart table which is layered in white tuille with a White Wellington Damask overlay.

The cake table from The Bride's Table is draped in Wedgewood Blue taffeta and has a beautiful custom mock wedding cake that brings the space together.

If you’re looking for inspiration and you want to get away from the standard red, green or gold for your future holiday décor or for a white and blue wedding check out the photos in this blog post and then head over to Marquee Rents for more inspiration.

Why hire a wedding planner?

Posted By JMark Photograpy on their website

At a recent wedding, a groomsman came running up to the groom asking for his carkeys. Why? Because the person designated to pick up the main course at a localrestaurant forgot the food! What?? Talk about added stress! You have planned the perfect wedding and you have asked all your friends help deliver supplies to the reception site and pitch in to help set up. Done... but now everyone wants to enjoy the ceremony, food and dancing! Who will be there on the day of the event to make sure it goes according to your plan? Who is the contact point when your vendors arrive? Who tells the ushers to start seating?Who lines up your wedding party for their entrances? Who communicates with the wait staff to instruct them to start serving? You and your family are busy visiting with family and friends that you haven't seen in a long time. Who will you rely on to see that everything falls into place?

Too often, brides rely on family, friends, the DJ and the photographers to carry out plans on the day of the wedding. By asking a friend or family member to take on this stressful task, that person will not be able to enjoy the event as a guest and will end up feeling like "event staff." In most cases, your "volunteers"have little experience in this role and end up frazzled as they try to keep on top of everything that must be done to ensure that the day goes smoothly. Save your family and friends from this fate! Coordinating a wedding day schedule requires unique experience. Many of us are novices when it comes to organizing and executing such a logistically intricate event. It is your "day of "wedding coordinators job to make your day is  stress-free. Select your venue and vendors and don't forget to let a coordinator bring it all together for you.

The W Hotel

We recently had the privilege of being a part of a recruiting event at The W Hotel in Austin.Accounting firm Ernst & Young had an "Oscar Night" to recruit interns from UT. It was a night of food, drinks, games, photo booth and of course our delicious candy buffet. When we first received the call to provide a candy buffet I was hoping it was going to be orange and white but it ended up being the company colors of Ernst & Young which are black, yellow and white. These are great colors to work with no matter what the occassion is.The candy buffet was a huge hit with the UT students. The biggest item everyone talked about where the "fruity gummy penquins." The yogurt covered pretzels and M&M's where also very popular. The associates of  The W Hotel and Ernst & Young were a true pleasure to work with and we can't wait to do it again!

We recently did a spring theme wedding at Kindred Oaks in Cedar Park which is

a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding. The covered pavilion also has an outdoor

fireplace for those chillier evenings or just for ambience. The gazebo is perfect for the

ceremony site or to display the wedding cake. There is also another ceremony site

overlooking a parklike setting and pond. This candy buffet was filled with colors of

blue, pink, purple, green and yellow. We also used white vintage bowls and butterfly

dishes to hold skittles,Jordan Almonds and flower sweet tarts. This theme would also

work well for showers, rehearsal dinners and summer weddings.
